AIR BUSHINGS – XABR series
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The XABR series finds their best application in linear and rotary movements, even with motorization, where zero friction is needed.
Their high flexibility allows the customer to set up the guide system in various ways.
The cylindrical air bearing (XABR-RBB) is made up of an aerostatic porous bushing and an anodized aluminum sleeve, joined through interference.
Sliding occurs on shafts (PBH) manufactured with rounds or stainless hoses or chrome-plated grinded steel, both with very accurate dimensional and shape tolerances. Shaft can be supported with their own supports (PBE).
The bearings can be supplied:
- as a simple sliding element, as cylindrical bearing (XABR-RBB): in this particular case, the support element has to be manufactured by the user
- already integrated with the MAGER standard support (XABR-RFx).

ZERO FRICTIONThe total absence of friction is of very important in measuring systems, for example in coordinate-measuring machines, where air bearings are used to ensure perfect sliding movement of carriages, in order to avoid contact with the guides: the result is measures totally free from errors. No friction is a top priority in research laboratories, when primary (standard) measurements must be obtained for sectors related to LENGHTS, ANGLES, FORCES AND HARDNESS.

NO-CONTACTThe total absence of contact allows the motion systems to work 7/7 and 24/24 with high-dynamic cycles, ensuring both zero maintenance and allowing high production level. Therefore, maintenance costs are drastically reduced and ordinary maintenance can be properly planned.
